Flynn Bartow

Our unwitting Changeling hero, Flynn Bartow has been appointed ambassador of Nemnebliar at the court of the Emperor of Endora. Our story begins with his arrival at the court, where he quickly learns that matters in this opulent palace will not be quite as easy to deal with as they seem.
Like all Changelings, Flynn can change his form to look like any living creature that is roughly his size and sex. This power, however, is not without its limitations: Flynn can only transform back to his former self when someone else anoints his forehead with water.
To say the least, Flynn’s ability to transfigure himself doesn’t exactly make him the most trustworthy person at court. From the moment he sets foot in the Emperor’s domain, his work as a diplomat is cut out for him.

Nephew of the current Prime Minister Cavaldy, Bruno Cavaldy recently was sent to aid Durundaro in their campaign to retake the city of Vurnad from the Ogres. Although the campaign was not successful, Bruno received a great deal of recognition for his prowess in the fight—particularly for the one time that he managed to defeat an Ogre Magus singlehandedly.
He has recently been appointed bodyguard to Iohan Sveringen, the ambassador of the Island States in the court of Endora.

Iohan Sveringen

An electrifying new talent in the diplomatic world, Iohan Sveringen has patiently risen through the ranks of the Island States bureaucracy, and, through a combination of connections and cunning, has earned the rank of ambassador of the Island States to the Emperor of Endora.
An accomplished Mage, Sveringen carries his wand with him wherever he goes, though curiously he is very rarely seen using it. When asked, he merely remarks that magic is his last resort, and his silver tongue is his first.
Sveringen has already made a reputation for himself as a shrewd and persuasive diplomat here in the Emperor’s palace, and is frequently seen accompanied by his bodyguard Bruno Cavaldy and his secretary Sovres Drummond. Sveringen’s servant Ophelia, though, presumably remains in his private apartment, and is rarely seen.

Usually simply referred to as “Drummond,” Sveringen’s quiet, moody secretary follows him wherever he goes. He is hardly ever seen outside of his master’s company, and is always furiously taking notes on everything he sees. His pockets are lined with jotter paper and replacement pencils.
He seems a pensive fellow of extraordinary education, but no one in the Emperor’s court has ever heard him utter a single word. Some speculate that he might be apprenticing to be a mage under Sveringen’s tutelage, though all he ever seems to do is write and observe.

Widow of the late Count Lucio Nirendi of Matan, Countess Bianca has been governing her province by proxy ever since her husband’s death. Rumors that Count Alcavar is courting the Countess have gained ground, as the two have been seen together at various venues.
An additional rumor has it that the Countess might petition the Emperor to secure sole sovereignty of her county, though this petition would run contrary to Endoran law, which states that a woman cannot hold sole sovereignty of any state for longer than three years. She has already been mourning Lucio for two.

A veteran in the diplomat’s craft, the Branduish Ambassador to Endora Logan Harenson has been working for the Chancery Bureau of Branduin for over twenty years. The son of a well-to-do printer, Logan was taught his letters from a young age, and, working as an apprentice in his father’s shop, eventually saved enough money to earn a degree at Brandenbridge College. There he met Eleanor, fell in love with her, married, and had a beautiful daughter.
But in the tale of Logan’s patient rise from obscurity to prominence lies a single tragedy: in giving birth to her daughter Lillian, Eleanor died. Her last wish was that Logan would protect her daughter — a wish he has endeavored in every way to fulfill.

Daughter of the Branduish Ambassador Logan Harenson, Lillian has proven both a vivacious wit and a voracious reader since her earliest days. Despite her affection for her father, she finds his attention to her affairs meddlesome or annoying at times, but tolerates his concerns for her nevertheless.
She presently serves as her father’s secretary, and aspires eventually to follow in his footsteps as the next Branduish Ambassador; already her education is nearly complete. She is determined to remain politically active regardless of whether she takes a husband, much to the polite chagrin of the men who approach her. Though she claims she has eyes on no man at the court (at the moment), many have theirs on her.
