"I love the heads on those dogs. They look almost like Egyptian statues of Pharaoh hounds."

Heheh, very perceptive of you! As it turns out, one of the real-world dog breeds I used for inspiration is the Saluki, a breed which comes from that region of the world.

(Other breeds I used were the Afghan Hound and the Kathiawari. That last one is a horse. No joke!)

I think the whole has flowed together exceedingly well so far, particularly in this third scene. (The first two scenes have their abrupt moments, though that was because they featured lots of awkward silences in the conversation.)

As I finish up yet another semester, I hope to start plowing ahead and forging the remainder of the plot, so that Amy and I can get a better sense of the overall shape of things to come.

I will avow the following hint: Logan has name-dropped an important visitor whose arrival will prove pivotal to the plot in the next Act or two.

I recall quite a few "rofflecopters" occurring when Amy and I first played out this scene years ago. The gag at the end of this page dates all the way back to the first renditions of Overtures as a roleplaying game back in 2005.

Poor Flynn. He has his work cut out for him.

And the punchline for this page is MADE by the final panel. MADE. The dialogue is of course great too.

You just _know_ the servants are going to be telling everyone about the sword-slinging, children's-toy-owning lunatic, and rumors are going to spread like wildfire. No one's going to take poor Flynn seriously!

(But who knows? Maybe that's how he wants it!)

Aha, see! I still have much to learn. A page I thought would be problematic doesn't seem to have caused any issues at all. Good to see that Tom and I getting across the important bits in terms of story/character development, though. That's always a concern of mine, making sure there aren't going to be any huge "huh?" moments for readers.

Thanks so much for taking time to answer the questions! I sometimes get feedback from family and friends, but because I talk to them about Overtures, I don't know for sure if they're "getting" things from the comic or my conversations with them.
