As in most fantasy settings, a stout race that inhabits the interiors of mountains; expert masons, smiths, and craftsmen, characterized by their short height (3 – 4 feet), portly build, and gruff, intrepid disposition. Each of their clans governs one of their city-states, which are scattered throughout the mountain ranges of Urania. The capitals of these states are connected to one another through the “Dwarven Road,” which also serves as the main land-based artery of commerce between the Human nations. Many Dwarves earn their living as guides on this system of roads. Thus, the Dwarves are an amicable and jolly lot, often mingling freely with Humans and Gnomes, particularly in the nation of Branduin.
